Akwasi Owusu-Ansah

That's going to be a tough name to spell for the next few years. It appears that this guy can play cornerback or safety and he has the ability to return punts and kickoffs. He might be a bit of a project at safety but that is pretty much what you are going to get at this point in the draft. It is hard to project guys from small schools at the NFL level, but Orlando Scandrick was unheralded and worked out just fine.

The video shows me a guy who looks like a decent safety prospect. He doesn't look terribly quick but he seems to be able to find the ball. I can't complain about this one. There is the safety everyone has been looking for. Now the Cowboys need to get some help on the offensive line.

  1. Looks like a special teams player, possibly the kickoff returner and punt returner. Which means 2 things: They think they don't need safety help (unless they plan to do something in free agency or trade) and that Dez Bryant was drafted to be just a reciever. Talk about pressure on Roy Williams.

  2. I think this guy will compete with Hamlin and Ball for playing time. I'm not passing him off as a special teamer yet. It might take him a year or two but there is potential.

  3. I live 30 minutes from IUP and watched this guy just toying with the other players. He could be something special.

  4. I can't stress this enough, this guy is no doubt a monster..... But the guy played division 2 Football. All of those wimpy missed arm tackles will not happen to him in the NFL. He is a good pick up for the Cowboys, but only if we give him the proper time to develop. What the Cowboys (Jerry Jones specifically) need to do is find a way to resist the urge to not be cheap, and go after Oshiomogho Atogwe.
